Lufkin Police officers arrested a 33-year-old West Columbia man after he allegedly stole two digital levels from Sears and used one to whack a store employee in the head after workers tried to detain him.

According to the police report, the incident occurred between 3:50 and 4 p.m. Monday at the Sears store located in the Lufkin Mall at 4600 S. Medford Drive.
