NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A West Memphis, Ark. woman received five years probation in a sentencing hearing held in a Nacogdoches County district court Wednesday for a felony possession of marijuana charge.
Ciara Lasha Gladney was arrested after a deputy with the Nacogdoches County Pct. 4 Constable's Office found six pounds of marijuana in her car in October 2011. The amount of marijuana found in her possession made the possession charge a third-degree felony.
Deputy Constable Rusty Allen stopped Gladney's Dodge Charger on US 59 because she was driving with an expired registration. After Gladney acted nervous and gave Allen conflicting stories about her trip, the deputy constable got consent to search her car. He found six pounds of marijuana in a garbage bag in the vehicle's trunk.
Constable Jason Bridges said the marijuana confiscated from Gladney's had an estimated value of $4,800.
