First responders speak of Newtown shooting

NEWTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

First responders had a chance to speak about the mass shootings in Newtown on Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Assistant Fire Chief Ray Corbo spoke about what he saw as parents started showing up to the scene.

"As the children were coming down, they were looking to claim their child," Corbo said. "As they would get their child, they would leave. And you knew that there was a certain amount of kids inside there that weren't (going to) be coming out on their own power, and those were the parents, they're waiting. And they never came."

Corbo also expressed his sorrow to the families of the victims and said he wishes he could have helped save more people.
