SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Louisiana man and Joaquin woman died after getting hit by an 18-wheeler while crossing an intersection Wednesday morning in Shelby County.

Lloyd Jayson Ramsey, 39, of Logansport, La., died at the scene. Lauren Michelle Weaver, 20, of Joaquin, died at 4:22 p.m. at a Shreveport, La., hospital. Neither were wearing seatbelts.

Billy Gene Mason, 88, of Joaquin, is listed in stable condition at a Nacogdoches hospital with a broken pelvis. He was wearing a seatbelt.

According to the DPS report, Ramsey was driving a 1996 Ford F150 and was at the intersection of FM 139 and County Road 3193. Weaver was a passenger. Ramsey did not yield to the right-of-way at the intersection and drove into the path of Mason, who was driving a 2013 Mack truck.
