CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - The City of Crockett has decided on a Lufkin Police detective as its newest chief of police.
According to a press release from City Administrator Ronald Duncan, David W. "Buddy" Cross brings more than 20 years of experience with the Houston County Sheriff's Office, Crockett Police and Lufkin Police.
He will start the job on Dec. 31.
According to Duncan, Cross was selected out of 48 other applicants.
Cross replaces Jimmy Fisher, who retired in August, according to CountyLifeOnline.com.
