Lufkin PD: Burglars hit Pal's Video, forced ATM machine open

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An unknown suspect or suspects broke out a front window to the Pals Video store located at 1523 W. Frank Ave, forced open an ATM machine, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash early Friday morning.

Detective J.B. Smith, a spokesperson for the Lufkin Police Department, said the Pals Video store does have video surveillance cameras. However, LPD detectives have not received any video from the store's owners yet, and he said that it could be after Christmas before they do get the video if surveillance footage is available.

Smith said that if the Lufkin Police Department doesn't catch the suspects or suspects before then, they will probably seek tips from the Lufkin Crime Stoppers hot line.

According to the police report, the cash amount was listed as less than $200,000.

The burglary occurred sometime between 2:54 and 3:50 a.m. Friday. LPD officers responded to an active burglary alarm at Pals Video and found that someone had "forced entry into the building by damaging an entry door." Once inside, the suspect or suspects forced open the ATM machine and took an undisclosed amount of cash.
