Nacogdoches County Constable Office arrests forgery suspect

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches County Constable Office Precinct 4 and the Public Safety Narcotics Division have obtained over $4,000 in counterfeit money.

The money was seized during an on-going investigation that led officers to 34-year-old Marcus Tutt of Nacogdoches. During the investigation, several officers were able to purchase several thousand dollars' worth of counterfeit money from Tutt.

According to a press release, the constable's office executed a search warrant for a residence located on Scarlet Oak Street near Old Lufkin Road around 3 p.m. Friday. Officers found more counterfeit money on the scene that was hidden inside the master bedroom. Tutt was arrested at the scene.

Tutt is being charged with offense of forgery, which is a third felony in the state of Texas. He is currently in the Nacogdoches County Jail.
