YUMA, AZ (CBS5) -

The remains of a Yuma man and his gyrocopter have been located in the desert south of Interstate 8 near Avenue 37E, according to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies and U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to the call Sunday afternoon and located the crashed aircraft along with the deceased pilot.

That pilot has been identified as Douglas Goodman, 64, of Yuma.

The crash appears to be an accident with no criminal activity suspected in the case.

The National Transportation and Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration were notified of the crash and will be responding to the crash site to review the wreckage.
