One fatality in late night accident in Diboll

DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) -

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety report, a Diboll man was struck and killed a half mile north of Diboll around 11:50 p.m. Monday.

The man was 54-year-old Dixon Dempsey of Diboll. DPS said Dempsey walked into the roadway when he was hit by a 1987 Suzuki Samurai. The driver of the vehicle was Bradley McKee of Lufkin.

Dempsey was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:43 a.m. DPS Trooper Marc Slocum was at the scene.

Dempsey's body was taken to Gibson Funeral Home in Diboll. His family has been notified. As of 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, the accident is under investigation.
