Lufkin PD seeking help in locating two alleged debit card thieves

LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - Crime Stoppers of Lufkin wants your help identifying the suspects in an investigation of the theft of a wallet and the fraudulent use of a debit card.

On October 13, a victim discovered her wallet missing; she realized that she last had the wallet while shopping that date at a Lufkin-area grocery store. Immediately upon detecting the loss, she canceled her missing debit card. Two days later, the victim learned that someone used the debit card twice on day she lost it. The victim realized that the wallet was stolen, not lost.

Lufkin Police Department investigators obtained security video from a Lufkin-area department store showing two suspects using the victim's stolen debit card.

According to the video, the suspects used the card for two purchases of less than two dollars each. From the second transaction, the suspects received $100 in cash. Click here to view portions of the security video.

The suspects are a white female who was wearing blue jeans and a gray T-shirt with "TEXAS A&M" in maroon letters across its front, and a white male wearing blue jeans and a sleeveless, gray T-shirt. The female had her dark blonde hair pulled back in a short ponytail. The male wore a camouflage-patterned hat and has a band-style tattoo around his right upper arm.

The suspects left the store in a dark, possibly green-colored, 90's model, extended-cab, two-wheel-drive General Motors truck. The truck has a silver toolbox in its bed and is missing its tailgate.
