This week's Pay It Forward starts out along Avenue Q near Downtown Lubbock. We set up with our Pay It Forward sign on a dusty day in Lubbock.
Within minutes, Mark Fowler spots our sign. Mark works for an electrical company and pulls into the parking lot when he spots our sign.
Mark has chosen to help a co-worker who is on assignment with him that day. Mark helps out Lyndon Scholl. Lyndon lost his wife last year and has fallen on hard times.
Lyndon broke down in tears as he shared his story with us. He lost his wife and a significant source of income. Mark has been a good friend helping him out while he struggles to get back on his feet. Lyndon shares with us that he has very few friends in this world, but Mark has been a man who has helped him through life.
Mark counts out $300 to Lyndon and Lyndon is very emotional. He thanks everyone and tells us that it is a blessing from God that nice people still exist in the world today. It was a very touching afternoon.
After expressing gratitude, they head back to work and our crew was also very thankful that we met Mark and Lyndon.
Be looking for our Pay It Forward sign soon. You could become our first playmaker in 2013! Happy New Year!
