LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) -

An autopsy report revealed that the 26-year-old Wichita Falls woman whose body was found in a car parked at the Livingston Wal-Mart on Oct. 18 died of natural causes.

"On January 3, 2013, the Livingston Police Department received the autopsy report for Jessica Lynn Burgess from Forensic Medical Management Services of Texas," Detective Leon Middleton of the Livingston Police Department, said in a press release. "According to the report filed by Dr. Bridget Eutenier, it was documented that Jessica Lynn Burgess' manner of death was natural causes."

The press release stated that an on-scene preliminary investigation into the cause of Burgess' death "showed no immediate signs of foul play."

At approximately 8:20 a.m. on Oct. 18, the Livingston Police Department was contacted by Margaret Burgess, Jessica Burgess' mother. She told LPD officers that she had filed a missing person report with the Wichita Falls Police Department.

Margaret Burgess told the Livingston Police Department that she had traced her daughter's cell phone to the Livingston area, and gave the officers a list of possible locations of the phone. Officers with the Livingston Police Department searched for Jessica Burgess throughout Livingston and Polk County.

Then at about 5:27 p.m., Margaret Burgess called the Livingston Police Department again. She told officers that she had found Jessica Burgess, along with her daughter's Chevrolet Cobalt at the Wal-Mart store located at 1620 West Church Street in Livingston.

After the LPD officers secured the scene, they called in their supervisors and detectives.

"Under the circumstances that Jessica Burgess was discovered, it is common for the Livingston Police Department to perform a thorough investigation of the scene and request an autopsy be performed to determine the cause of death," a press release from the Livingston Police Department said.

Polk County Justice of the Peace Darrell Longino pronounced Jessica Burgess dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy be done by Forensic Medical Management Services of Texas.
