Jake's on the Square shares 'Strawberries Rebecca'

Posted: Updated:

David Wallace from Jake's on the Square in downtown Tyler shares a recipe that he says is perfect for entertaining and that you might want to make for your Valentine in the coming weeks!

David also says that this was named after a well-loved English teacher from TJC, Rebecca Laughlin.

STRAWBERRIES REBECCA

  • 1 eight once container of any brand sour cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla  (imitation vanilla is okay)

Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl till smooth. Sauce is done!

This is best served over fresh strawberries but it is okay to use other  fresh fruits. Use a stemmed glass for berries topped with a little sauce, or place fruits on a serving dish and let people dip the fruit. This makes a great party platter! You can even top a piece of cheese cake with fruit, then sauce. There are so many ways to utilize this easy recipe. Some folks have even said, " just give me a spoon and I'll eat the sauce like soup".
