Arizona DUI arrests down in 2012

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

There were less DUI arrests across the state of Arizona in 2012 compared to 2011.

That's according to preliminary stats released by Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday.

In 2012, there were 28,104 total DUI arrests, compared to 32,441 in 2011.

That's despite the number of traffic stops being up - from 632,464 in 2011 to 801,968 in 2012.

The numbers were entered by statewide agencies on the GOHS Reporting System.
