LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

An investigation into the cause of the fire on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Tuesday night proved fruitless. A Lufkin Fire Department official stated the cause is being ruled "undetermined."

"It is classified as an accidental fire," Captain Ozzie Jarman of the Lufkin Fire Department, said in an e-mail. ‘There were several electrical appliances in the area of origin that would not eliminate as possible points of ignition, including a window AC/heating unit, space heater, and a small refrigerator."

Lufkin fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire Tuesday night. The blaze started on the property of Superior Kitchen Services, LLC, which is located on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. First responders said the building might have been some type of office.

Lufkin firefighters put out the blaze quickly, but the building appears to be a total loss. The fire was extinguished by about 8:45 p.m.
