NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Commissioners Court named Anita Scott as the Civic and Exposition Center Director today in a special meeting. Anita has been acting as interim manager since August 2011.

"In that capacity, Anita has been performing many of the duties that the County has been
looking for in their search for a Director," a press release stated. "She has demonstrated that she is not only willing to perform the duties, but is extremely capable. We are very pleased with the performance and eagerness we have seen in Anita and are happy to name her as the new Director."

Scott has been working for Nacogdoches County for about 9 years. She started with the District Clerk's Office in 2003 and transferred to the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center in 2006.

The civic and exposition center director position has been vacant since June 2012. Nacogdoches County Commissioners voted to reassign Bill Plunkett as the manager of Lake Naconiche.
