Good Samaritan's home burns down after helping find missing kids

Posted: Updated:
BIG SANDY, TX (KLTV) -

On January 4, we introduced you to John Lacy. Lacy is the Gladewater man who helped reunite a Georgia mother with her sons after they'd been taken by their father.

John had been visiting his own son in Austin on December 30, when he saw the story about the missing boys on CNN. John recognized the boys at his motel and alerted authorities. Shortly after John's good deed, his Big Sandy home burned down in an electrical fire.

John and his girlfriend lived in the home together. The two have three teenage boys. Now, a fund has been set up to help them with expenses that resulted from the fire.

Donations can be made at any Texas Bank and Trust location. The account is in the names of Jennifer Lambert and John Lacy.
