Nacogdoches
Police officers arrested two men on a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges Wednesday night after
methamphetamine, marijuana, and a shotgun were found in their pickup during a traffic stop on North Street.
Jimmy
Jack Turner, 44, and Jeffrey Shain Turner, 22, both of Nacogdoches, are still
being held in the Nacogdoches jail. No bond has been set at this time.
Jimmy
Turner was charged with three felonies - possession of a controlled substance
between 4 and 200 grams, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and
burglary of a habitation. He was also charged with driving with license
suspended, a Class B misdemeanor. Jeffrey Turner was charged possession of a
controlled substance less than 1 gram, felony, and possession of less than 2
ounces of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.
According
to Sgt. Greg Sowell of the Nacogdoches Police Department, a Chevrolet pickup
driven by Jimmy Turner was stopped for a traffic violation in the 800 block of
North Street at about 11:12 p.m. Wednesday. Jeffrey Turner was a passenger.
When the
NPD officer searched the vehicle, a substance believed to be methamphetamine
was found on Jimmy Turner and inside the pickup. Marijuana and a shotgun were
also located. Both men were arrested at the scene and transported to the
Nacogdoches County Jail.
