NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches County District Attorney's Office has dismissed a charge against a Nacogdoches man accused of abusing his seven-year-old niece in July 2011.

According to prosecutor Cristin Lane, the girl's family did not want to force the girl to participate in a trial. Once she learned the defendant, Warren Carl Williams, 63, no longer has access to his niece, she agreed to drop the charge.

According to a previous report, Williams allegedly injured the girl by pushing her to the ground and injuring her head.
