SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Police are looking for your help in identifying two suspects who were in a Phoenix grocery story parking lot when they scammed an elderly woman out of $18,000.

Scottsdale police said a woman approached the 81-year-old victim in the Fry's parking lot located at 7628 E. Indian School Rd. on Nov. 7, 2012, and claimed she had found a wallet containing thousands of dollars. The woman told the victim she'd need to hand over $25,000 to get a portion of the money in the wallet.

The second suspect handed over a large sum of money to convince the victim he was willing to go along with the "pigeon drop" scheme, police said.

The victim withdrew her entire savings from the bank and gave the suspect $18,000, thinking she was going to get a large sum of money in return.

But the suspects left with the victim's money while she was waiting for them in the parking lot.

Police said the suspects likely targeted the victim because she is elderly.

The first suspect is described as an 5'4'' African-American woman with a medium build and dark hair. She was wearing a light green shirt and dark dress slacks.

The second suspect is described as a thin, 6'1'', African-American man, with short dark hair and a mole or mark on his upper lip. He was wearing a gray business suit and a white shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
