Phoenix police blamed an icy city road for a wreck that sent an SUV crashing into a car dealership showroom Tuesday morning.

Police said a motorist on 12th Street was approaching Camelback Road when the car hit some light ice on the road.

Witnesses say the SUV jumped the curb, slammed into a Corvette and pushed it 30 feet across the parking lot before slamming into the showroom.

"I think if the Corvette hadn't been in the way to absorb a lot of that damage he would have went through the showroom," said Courtesy Chevrolet employee George Salman.

One person in the showroom was hit by the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital with a minor leg injury.

The man's boss, Mark Gruwell, said the victim was, "very shaken up."

Gruwell told CBS 5 News that a waterline break on Sunday caused part of the road to get wet. The water froze overnight creating a large patch of ice.
