LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -
A Lufkin woman is choosing to take a probation sentence after pleading guilty Wednesday to posing as someone else and sending threatening text messages to herself.
Barbara Mott Bordelon, 52, chose a 10-year probated sentence instead of a two-year prison sentence.
According to a previous report, Bordelon and a man reported on July 9 that they received harassing
phone calls and threatening text messages from a pre-paid cellphone
purchased under the name of another woman. The threatening messages
continued throughout the investigations and stated that friends of the
woman would attack the two if they did not tell Lufkin Police to stop
the investigation into the harassment.
Police arrested Bordelon in July after the investigation revealed
she had used the name of the woman to purchase the phone and make the
messages.
After she was booked into jail, Bordelon said she fabricated the
messages and story of harassment but did not have a reason for doing so,
according to the report.
