RUSK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A truck driver managed to get out of his rig before it exploded on US 259, north of Mount Enterprise Friday afternoon.

According to DPS spokeswoman Jean Dark, the driver's truck ran off the road, about a mile north of Mount Enterprise, struck a tree and caught on fire.

A viewer emailed a video of the fire to KTRE and explained the driver escaped before the rig caught on fire.

As of 4:15 p.m., traffic on both sides had been reduced to one lane, as crews worked to clean up the scene.
