AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) -
Lt. Governor David Dewhurst has made state senate committee appointments and all three East Texas state senators have either a chair or vice-chair a committee.
State Senator Kevin Eltife (R-Tyler) will chair the administration committee. Eltife will also be a member of the Bbusiness and Commerce, Economic Development, Finance, and Natural Resources Committees.
State Senator Bob Deuell (R-Greenville) will chair the Economic Development committee and vice-chair the Health and Human Services Committee and State Affairs Committee. Deuell will also serve as a member of the Finance and Natural Resources Committees.
State Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) will chair the Transportation Committee and vice-chair the Intergovernmental Relations Committee. Nichols will also serve as a member of the Health & Human Services, Natural Resources and State Affairs Committees.
