LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

At around 4:51 Wednesday morning, fire crews were called to 1603 Fowler Drive for a fire involving a single family residence.

Authorities say heavy fire was coming out of the back bedroom windows and had spread to the attic by the time the first engine arrived. The occupants were not home when the fire started, and the Red Cross was called to provide assistance to those residents.

The cause of the fire, which started in the bedroom, was not intentional and the cause remains undetermined.

One firefighter was taken for medical care due to an injured knee.
