San Augustine will turn water off for repairs to water main Wednesday

The City Of San Augustine has a water leak on a 16-inch main line that runs from the water plant to the elevated storage tank behind the hospital, contractors have been notified and the leak repair will start Wednesday morning (January 30, 2013).

San Augustine city officials expect the repairs to take most of the day Wednesday. During the work on the water main, the city's water will be turned off. All residents of San Augustine will need to boil their water until further notice. All water for drinking or cooking will need to be boiled. Water for flushing and bathing does not have to be boiled before use.

Some businesses and citizens will be affected more than others. According to a press release, the city will still be supplying some water to the town via 6- and 8-inch pipes from the water plant.
