NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office has stepped up its search for a Center man wanted for breaking into a woman's house and sexually assaulting her on Friday.

Sheriff Jason Bridges released a bulletin on Thomas Howell on Saturday. Since then, the US Marshals have become involved in the search.

Bridges said Howell is believed to be in the Nacogdoches or Center area. He has warrants for first-degree burglary of a habitation to commit assault, sexual assault, assault family violence, retaliation and violation of a protective order.

The Sheriff said, "We believe he's in Nacogdoches. He's from the Center area so he could be back and fourth. He has no transportation so he's either going to be getting a ride from someone he knows or he's going to be on foot."

Bridges said Howell should be considered dangerous. Anyone having information on Howell's whereabouts should contact the Nacogdoches Sheriff Office at 936-560-7777.
