SAN AUGUSTINE, TX (KTRE) -

San Augustine County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 35-year-old Broaddus man after a teenage girl allegedly told her doctor that Vincent L. Allen had sexual intercourse with her during the summer of 2012.

Allen is still being held in the San Augustine County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. No bond has been set at this time.

San Augustine County Sheriff David Smith said the 15-year-old girl's father reported the sexual assault on Jan. 23. The father learned of his daughter's sexual activity after she disclosed it during a doctor's visit and contacted the San Augustine County Sheriff's Office

When the sexual assault allegedly occurred, the girl was 14, Smith said. At the time, she was staying with her mother and step-father at their residence in Broaddus.

Smith said the girl is currently living with her father in Lufkin. He added that SACSO detectives had a hard time getting any information from the girl, other than an admission that she and Allen had allegedly had sex.

In addition to the aggravated sexual assault charge, Allen is also in violation of his parole, according to Smith. The San Augustine sheriff said that Allen was on parole for a previous burglary charge when the alleged sexual of a child occurred.

Smith explained that according to Texas law, a minor under the age of 16 cannot legally give consent to have sex.
