Funeral services for Roy Adron Rogers, 73, of Etoile will be held Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jesse Miller and Bro. Donny Hendrick officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery in Nacogdoches County.
Mr. Rogers was born October 28, 1930 in Nacogdoches County, to the late Jesse H. and Cervenia (Strahan) Rogers, and died Thursday, July 22, 2004 in a Houston hospital.
A resident of Houston and Montgomery for 30 years, Mr. Rogers had resided in Etoile for the past 9 years. He worked as a Foreman at Ethyl Corporation in Pasadena for 27 years. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Hudson United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Laura (Spurgeon) Rogers of Etoile; son and daughter-in-law, Roy Dewayne and Linda Rogers of Montgomery; daughters and sons-in-law, Judene and Anthony Stowe of Montgomery and Ronda and Bill Goslawski of Edmond, OK; 5 grandchildren, Shannon Rogers, Dewayne Rogers, Misti Sawyer, Seth Goslawski and Mindi Stowe; 5 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Hastings, Jacob Rogers, Kaley Rogers, Katey Rogers and Niki Sawyer; and sister, Melbalene Stark of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Sawyer, Dewayne Rogers, Jerry Collins, Randall Petty, Randy Allen and Dean Lusty.
