The Martinsville Lady Pirates made history Tuesday night with a 43-19 win over Shelbyville. For the first time in school history the Lady Pirates had a perfect 32-0 regular season.
The gym was packed as the crowd watched seniors Gabby Spencer, Taylor Enloe and Emily Knight lead the way. Coach Danny Enloe could not hide his pride after the game.
"It has been fun there is no hiding that, it has been a lot of fun," said Enloe. "There are a lot of great kids in that locker room, and I think we did something special. But fun is the word of the night."
The Lady Pirates hope the fun continues into the playoffs. As district champs they will have a bye in the first round. Coach Enloe will schedule a warm-up game for Friday. Then the Lady Pirates will wait a week to meet their first playoff opponent.
