NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -
Nacogdoches Police officers conducting a welfare check at the Austin Arms apartment complex on Douglass Road Wednesday evening found a woman dead in her apartment. The cause of the woman's death is still under investigation.
"The circumstances surrounding the death are unknown at this time," Sgt. Greg Sowell, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, said.
Sowell said the Nacogdoches Police Department is looking for an unidentified man to see if he has any information that can help their investigation.
NPD officers conducted the welfare check at the apartment complex, which is located at 1013 Douglass Road, at 6:51 p.m. Wednesday. It appeared that the woman had been dead for several days.
An autopsy has been ordered to help determine the cause of the woman's death.
