NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -
Charges may be pending against a Nacogdoches mother
who allegedly left a 10-year-old child in charge of a 2-year-old at a residence
in the 3100 block of Durst Street for at least two hours Thursday.
"While the mother was gone, the children were
exposed to an unreasonable risk of harm due to several factors," the police
report stated.
According to the police report, a complainant told
the Nacogdoches Police Department that he saw a woman leave two small children
at a house by themselves. An NPD officer went to the house and made contact with
the 10- and 2-year-old children.
The kids' father was at work, and the mother had
allegedly left the 10-year-old in charge of the younger child. After the father
was contacted, he came and took custody of the children.
