Longview, TX -

A vacant rental house in Longview was destroyed by fire on Tuesday evening.

Longview fire crews were called to the home in the 1200 block of North 9th street just before 7:30 p.m. Officials tell KLTV 7 that 40 percent of the home was on fire when crews arrived.

Longview Fire Battalion Chief Buddy Anderson says it took about 15 minutes to extinguish the fire, and no other homes were threatened. He tells KLTV 7 the house was on a corner lot away from other homes.

The house was vacant, and no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
