Man suspected of robbing Livingston Valero at gunpoint arrested in Baytown

LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) -

The Livingston Police Department is in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for a man they believe robbed a Valero convenience store on Feb. 4. Dillon Daniel McKenzie was arrested in Baytown Wednesday on outstanding warrants from another county.

Currently McKenzie, 20, of Winnie, is currently being held in the Harris County Jail, and his bail has been set at $150,000. A Livingston Police officer said the robbery suspect will be extradited to the Polk County Jail as soon as the LPD gets the arrest warrant.

"The Livingston Police Department received a Crime Stoppers Tip which lead officers to identify Dylan Daniel McKenzie as a person of interest," Marty Drake, a detective with the Livingston Police Department, said.

He said McKenzie's arrest was the result of a joint effort by the Livingston Police Department, the Baytown Police Department, and the Chambers County Sheriff's Office.

According to a press release from the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to the Valero store located at 313 South Houston Street at 11:15 p.m.

When officers arrived, they learned that a white man had walked into the store and showed a handgun and demanded money from the register. The man then left the store with an undisclosed amount of money, got into a red Dodge 3/4-ton truck and headed south on US 146

The case is still under investigation, according to Drake.
