BFF: Unlike the Star Trek character, this Spock can be both playful and cuddly

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Spock is a cool cat. He can be both playful and cuddly.

He's about 6 months old and was brought to the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter from a local vet's office after a rough start in life.

Spock actually has a really unique story. He was found on the side of the road with some sort of injury that left him paralyzed in his hind legs, and a compassionate animal lover picked him up and took him to a vet's office, where they nursed him back to health and were actually able to reverse his paralysis. So, now he's a playful, young cat, and he moves around really well. He's looking for a forever home.

Nacogdoches Animal Control Officer, Steven Bryant said, "He's got a strange coat because he's got a black overcoat, and then underneath you can see silver, white and light colors. Yeah it's kind of cool looking. Yes. He's very unique looking."

Spock has a clean bill of health, his shots are up-to-date, and he is neutered.

The staff members at the shelter say he'd fit in well with kids and seems to get along with both cats and dogs.

"He's a playful guy, but he's actually calm right now," said Bryant. "Probably be better if he were an indoor cat just because especially in the city just so he doesn't get run over again."

To find out how you can adopt our furry friend, Spock, call the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter at 936-560-5011.

We want to find Spock the right home, and you can help. Go to the KTRE Facebook page, find his picture, and share it with your all your friends. The more shares the better.

Spock is our second furry friend, and we will be showcasing a new animal in need of a forever home and loving family every Thursday. Plus, you'll find more about BFF on the right side of our home page, KTRE.com.
