Police investigate armed robbery in Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Manchester are investigating an armed robbery.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Friday night at the Getty gas station on Tolland Turnpike.

Police said the suspect enter the store, displayed a silver handgun and demanded money for the store clerk.

The suspect was able to get away with an unknown amount of cigarettes from the store.

Police said the suspect fled on foot, and then may have gotten into a black Ford Taurus nearby.

The suspect is described by police as a black male, who was wearing a red sweatshirt, black pants and was carrying a red and black gym bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call Manchester police.
