Numerous ETX fire crews contain 120-acre grass fire

HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A large number of East Texas fire crews all worked together to contain a grass fire that grew to over 100-acres.

Hopkins County officials tell us that the fire which was located off of FM 1567 in southern Hopkins county torched around 120-acres.

Hopkins County fire crews along with Como, Arbala, Pickton/Pine Forest, Brinker, Cumby, Miller Grove, Saltillo, and Dike volunteer fire crews all responded to the scene. The red cross was also on the scene providing assistance.

Officials tell us they are not sure what started the fire, and that the cause is still under investigation. They also say that no homes or structures were damaged or threatened and that nobody was injured.
