Bone marrow drive for boy, 6, to be held this weekend

Press release

Six-year-old Aidan Peterson has been battling leukemia since he was a baby, now he must rely on a total stranger to save his life.

"Most parents dream of what their child will be when they grow up. My dream is that my son Aidan will simply grow up. Aidan had battled Leukemia since he was 18 months old. He has survived Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and now he needs a bone marrow transplant in order to survive Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Signing up as a bone marrow donor is offering someone the gift of survival. I think that is one of the biggest gifts there is. My son is so precious and so full of life. Please help us save him and countless others in need."   -Aidan's mother, Candice Lawson Gaudet

We need you! Every day thousands of patients search for a bone marrow donor match. Only 4 out of 10 patients are lucky enough to receive a transplant. "I lost my mother to leukemia when I was 14," stated Katharina Harf, Co-Founder Delete Blood Cancer, "and I have made it my mission to recruit more donors so that other families don't have to go through the pain we did. We need your help so we can save more lives."

You can register as a bone marrow donor on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lugnutz Sports Bar & Grill, located at 5287 S. US Hwy. 59 in Nacogdoches.
