Robber to AZ clerk: 'Don't make me shoot you'

MAYER, AZ (CBS5) -

Yavapai Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a convenience store robbery in Yavapai County.

The robbery happened just before 3 a.m. Wednesday at a Circle K store on Highway 69 in Mayer.

The clerk explained that he was approached inside the store by a man wearing a motorcycle helmet who said, "Don't make me shoot you man. Open the register."

The suspect then placed his right hand in a pocket as if gripping a firearm, the clerk told deputies. The clerk complied and opened the register drawer.

The suspect removed the entire cash tray and ordered the clerk into the bathroom. The robber escaped with an undetermined amount of money. The clerk eventually was able to call the sheriff's office.

The male suspect is described as between 5'7" and 5'9" tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He is between 18 and 28 years old.

He was last seen wearing a motorcycle-type helmet, blue jeans and a white, long-sleeved shirt.  Over the shirt, the suspect wore a black T-shirt with the word "QuikSilver" written across the front. The suspect was also wearing gloves.

He has long hair tied in a ponytail. The suspect had what appeared as purple make-up or a birth mark exposed below the helmet on his neck.

No vehicle was seen or heard.
