CASA GRANDE, AZ (AP) -

Federal investigators say a plane that crashed at the Casa Grande airport on Feb. 6 was doing practice flight maneuvers such as touch-and-go landings and takeoffs. Both men on the plane were killed.

According to the Casa Grande Dispatch, a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Administration says 65-year-old Del Steinbronn of Tucson was in the left pilot seat.

The other man killed was 51-year-old Stephen Stafford of Green Valley, a certified flight instructor.

The plane had left Marana Regional Airport at about 10:30 a.m. and the crash at Casa Grande Municipal Airport was reported about an hour later.

According the NTSB preliminary report, the plane cartwheeled after its left wing made initial contact with the ground.
