NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches woman pleaded guilty Friday to leaving two small children home alone while she and another woman went to a nightclub.

Qualonda Trenecia Freeney, 20, pleaded guilty in District Judge Campbell Cox's courtroom to a charge of abandoning a child and accepted a five-year probation sentence.

Nacogdoches Police arrested Freeney and another woman on May 12 after finding two small children in a home. Police had received a call from a neighbor who said she could hear crying babies in her neighbor's house.

Officers went to the home and found two small children home by themselves. They then tracked down the women at a nightclub.

Freeney's co-defendant has not been indicted in the case.
