Nacogdoches firefighters respond to small electrical fire at NISD's Carpenter campus

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Firefighters quickly contained a small electrical fire at Nacogdoches ISD's Emiline Carpenter Academy of Technology and Science Tuesday morning.

No one was injured as a result of the fire. One pre-K classroom was evacuated, and 12 others were temporarily relocated due to smoke concerns.

According to principal Hugh Perkins, fire officials believe that some lit Christmas tree lights that were bundled caught some nearby papers on fire. Later Tuesday, school officials did a walk-through of the campus to look for any fire hazards.

School is scheduled to go on as normal Wednesday morning.
