CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

A Houston County grand jury has indicted a former Grapeland ISD band director accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Adrian Gonzalo Tovar, 33, of Austin, is charged with improper relationship between and educator and student. He was originally arrested on the charge in April.

Tovar had been band director since 2011, but resigned after he was suspended during the investigation.

The grand jury also indicted Kenneth Brannon, 38, of Lovelady, on a charge of sexual assault of a child.

According to an arrest affidavit, a 15-year-old girl interviewed with investigators and said Brannon had molested her since she was three years old. The most recent occurrence came in October, she said.

According to the affidavit, the victim told her aunt about the abuse, who then told the victim's mother.

Investigators spoke to a witness, who said Brannon had confessed to him that he had been molesting the victim since she was 3.

He was originally booked in on the charge in December.
