FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -

Flagstaff police say an 11-year-old boy with autism who disappeared late Monday morning has been found safe.

Brandon Shinko was spotted in the area of 1000 W. Forest Meadows. The boy ran from officers as they approached the area.

Police set up a perimeter and were able to locate him a short time later.

He had disappeared from Kinsey School on South Lone Tree at about 11 a.m.

There was additional concern because the boy was off his medication.
