Trinity man allegedly assaults girlfriend with knife and runs from police

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Trinity man is in jail after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend with a knife in Lufkin.

According to Lufkin Police, 30-year-old James Gregory was arrested on Mill Street in Lufkin around 2:00 PM Saturday, after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend with a pocket knife.

According to the Lufkin Police media report, Gregory also evaded police two times while they were trying to arrest him.

Gregory is being charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and 2 counts of evading arrest.

Gregory remains in the Angelina County Jail. His bond is set at $3,000.
