Wife who allegedly shot Gregg County JP released from jail

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The woman who allegedly shot Gregg County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Sam Lawson was released from the Gregg County Jail on Tuesday.

According to the Gregg County Jail, Ira Lawson posted a $100,000 bond this morning and was released.

The Lawson's daughter says her mother has since checked herself into a mental care facility.

According to Longview police, on Saturday night, Ira Lawson shot her husband, then called 911 to tell authorities what had happened.

Sam Lawson is currently in good condition at an East Texas hospital.
