Lufkin woman records prayers daily

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Eighty-year-old Emmie Leach says she has been a prayer warrior for the last 30 years, and two months ago, she started her free recorded prayer service, hoping it would give an encouraging word to whomever calls.

"My job is to lift him up and tell people he loves you," Leach said.

She doesn't attach her name to it because she tries to make it less about her and more about a higher power.

"I'm doing this for the sole benefit of doing what the Lord has told me to do. It's not about me. It's about my love for the Lord. and his love for me and everyone," Leach said.

Leach's prayers are based not in her own words, but in scripture.

"I try as much as possible to base the prayer that I have on scripture," Leach said.
She admits that not every prayer is for everybody, but she believes that eventually if you listen and pray long enough, you will receive an answer.

"If they listen to the prayer and listen to the scriptures, the prayers will not return void. I know that. I believe what it says," Leach said.

In tough times like these, Leach hopes her prayer line can help change someone's life.
