LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - They have been partners in crime since birth.
Daniel is a 6-year-old Catahoula bull terrier mix and Nissi is a 5-year-old Queensland heeler.
Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter staff member, Christi Kalawinksy says, "Daniel is the love bug. Once you're outside he just wants to love on you and play with you Nissi on the other hand wants to explore and see what new things she can find to play with."
Daniel and Nissi have grown up together. They've been best furry friends all their life and they're hoping to find them a forever home together.
Kalawinksy says, "We would prefer them to go together. They can't be separated. They've been together this long and they would just be so depressed without each other."
The staff and volunteers at Kurth Memorial want Daniel and Nissi to find a home together as soon as possible and there is an incentive to do so their adoption fee is taken care of.
"Thanks to some of our loyal volunteers their adoption fee has been sponsored so if anybody would like to adopt them or see them they need to either find an adopter or a foster as soon as they can," said Kalawinksy
Both dogs are house-trained and well-mannered. Staff says Daniel and Nissi get along with other dogs but prefer not to be around cats. They love to run and play and definitely need a fenced in yard.
Both Daniel & Nissi are on the short-list to be euthanized due to limited capacity at the shelter.
