LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -
An auto-pedestrian accident on Lufkin's Davisville Road
that left a 23-year-old man injured Wednesday is now under investigation as a
possible aggravated assault, according to a Lufkin Police Department spokesman.
‘The officer will follow up with the pedestrian to
attempt to get his account of the incident and determine if the driver
intentionally drove into the pedestrian, or if the pedestrian did jump on the
vehicle," Detective J.B. Smith, a spokesman for the Lufkin Police Department,
said in an e-mail. "If she intentionally hit him, the incident will be
investigated as an aggravated assault."
Smith said Kiana Anderson, 20, of Lufkin, told
police that the pedestrian, Kevin Colquitt, 23, of Lufkin intentionally jumped
onto and damaged her Honda Civic.
"The pedestrian received an abrasion injury to his
leg and was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital, but he did not
provide the investigating officer any details concerning the incident."
The accident occurred in the 2400 block of
Davisville Road, according to Cpl. Nick Malone of the Lufkin Police Department.
Colquitt was conscious with limited communication before an ambulance took him
away.
Anderson was cited for no insurance.
