Nacogdoches deputies arrest couple in mobile meth lab bust

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested a Melrose husband and wife and confiscated a mobile meth lab during a traffic stop Thursday night on County Road 405.

According to a press release, deputies stopped a Buick LeSabre and became suspicious when both suspects became nervous. The allowed deputies to search the car and they found a duffle bag in the back seat that contained 25 plastic bottles which contained anhydrous and ammonia inside the bottles, which are used to cook meth, Sheriff Jason Bridges stated.

Other meth chemicals were found in the car, along with a half gram of crystal meth, meth oil and several other chemicals. Drug enforcement agents arrived on the scene and helped dispose of the hazardous chemicals, Bridges stated.

Deputies arrested Kevin King, 27 and Christie King, 28. Kevin King is charged with second-degree possession of certain chemicals, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, Class B possession of marijuana and a warrant for theft. His wife is charged with second-degree possession of certain chemicals, state-jail felony possession of a controlled substance and Class B possession of marijuana.
